About
Hello!
I’m Natalie, founder and owner of Happy Nat Yoga. I’ll be honest, it’s just me :) Teaching yoga to adults, kids and soon babies; across Kent, including Tonbridge, Yalding, Maidstone and surrounding areas. Sharing my passion of yoga in gyms, studios and village halls. As long as theres a space, I’ll bring the mats and bring yoga to you!
I have been practicing yoga for 10 years. I started to improve my fitness, focusing on the physical; wanting to keep fit whilst improving flexibility. Over the years I truly began to realise the benefits it had on my mental health and well being.
During a very low point in my life, suffering with depression, self harm and low self esteem, I wanted to get better, to heal and be happy. I took up yoga again, practicing in the comfort of my own home following youtube videos. It really helped me to focus on changing my negative thoughts and improving my well being. I decided to start an Instagram page of sharing my yoga & mental health story, an outlet that really helped me to overcome my struggles and focus on the good. I found it a great safe place to share and connect with others and was overwhelmed with a heartwarming response.
Having gained so much from Yoga I wanted to share my love for the practice and decided to become a teacher, travelling to India to train in 500 hours of Ashtanga & Vinyasa yoga. It was such an amazing experience and upon my return to the UK Happy Nat Yoga was born. A business that I am both excited and passionate about, providing yoga classes that focus on enhancing your physical, mental and emotional well being. Having an experience of mental illness and seeing close family and friends suffer I want to provide a safe, calming environment where people can practice yoga and take the time to focus on themselves.
Since becoming a Mum of 2 boys, I have started to teach yoga to children, particularly age 3-5, and will soon be adding babies to my offerings. Yoga, alongside parenting, has helped me see how we need to keep showing up, exactly as we are, in all our messy forms and allow ourselves to feel it all. This is exactly what I want to pass to children (and adults), through yoga, you can learn to love and just be yourself. I hope to pass this onto to Mums, in my upcoming baby classes. If anything, I want yoga to be a space for all, to feel everything, to be kind, be free and be yourself. Exactly what yoga gives me.
